Crunchy baby hat

Here we have a special request. My friend saw a hat on Etsy that is no longer available, and she asked if I could make one for her son. Turned out I had the very yarn (Noro Kureyon) in the precise color she wanted. So I studied the product pix and got to work. This is my second go ... the first was too large. The finished object ought to be way more interesting.

I'm swatching for a lace cardigan. I bought this yarn (Knit Picks' Gloss in Pumpkin) for Knitty's "Thermal", but I lost interest in making that sweater. Recently I saw a pattern for a "Katherine Hepburn Cardigan", and I decided to work out my own pattern for something similar. Granny-licious!

Tweed raglan

Once again, I'm attempting a rather free form top-down raglan sweater. I've been much more patient, more closely following the sage advice of Stefanie Japel along the way. The hank lying there (Cascade 'Pastaza') I picked up for contrasting neck/arm/waist, but I am still a tiny bit unsure as to whether I'll follow through with such a bold color statement. The main tweed yarn is Schoeller + Stahl 'Wonderwool'. I bought it from a girl on LJ, 8 skeins for $20!
