I used to do some house & catsitting for a family friend when he went on long trips, and he would bring back little gifts for me. This hails from Barcelona, Spain -- the work of a local artist apparently.
These also come from Spain, a gift from said family friend. These are a couple of the classier pieces of art I have in my home. Absurdity to follow...

This painting makes me feel good inside. It's some sort of bargain-basement knock-off, but the memory of how it came into my possession is super entertaining (notes of international spy rings, intrigue, conspiracy, juiciness). I'll cherish its mediocrity always.
I found this at a thrift store in Ardmore, Oklahoma. I was the partridge in a pear tree in a third-grade production of The Twelve Days of Christmas, so this original artwork has some special relevance to me. It's actually signed and dated by the artist -- bobby hamric '66.

What's not to love about felt? I found this one at an antique mall. I've got a thing for bird art. I say it's for the benefit and enjoyment of my cats, but really this is about me and my fascination with feathered friends ... and groovy, groovy turquoise.
